Solid phase analysis with EDP-XRF: SPECTRO XEPOS
EDP XRF
typeSPECTRO XEPOS
specPortable Energy Dispersive Polarization X-ray Fluorescence analyzer (EDP-XRF) with 12-sample autosampler
Gas supply bottled Helium for improvement of sensitivity for light elements. one 50L bottle is good for approx. 1000 samples
methods

SPECTRO XEPOS uses a Pd-target end window tube at a maximum power of 50 W and a maximum voltage of 50 kV. The excitation radiation is optimised for different groups of elements using three different targets for modification:

x-ray tube Varian VF-50J-Pd industrial x-ray tube wit 0.003" Beryllium window
Anode: copper body with Palladium target.
Target angle: 90° from central ray. focal spot: 1x1mm square

samples

our standard samples are a approximately 4 grams of freeze dried powdered sample in a cuvette with mylar foil bottom.

the XEPOS is actually capable of measuring elements from Mg - U. the marked elements have concentrations in marine sediments that are well detectable with the machine
